Disney implemented it’s FastPass+ system in 2013. Any guest that is booked in a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel gets to make their FastPass+ reservations 60 days in advance from their My Disney Experience Account at 7:00am EST. Any guests staying off site with Tickets that can be linked into a My Disney Experience Account at 30 days out. This is a FREE service. Guest’s are allowed to get (3) Advanced FastPass+ Selections each day. If you have a Park Hopper Ticket you can only choose One park to do your advanced FastPasses. Once your first (3) FastPasses are used or expired you can secure individual ones after that time throughout the day. So to recap you can get (3) in advance prior to your arrival.
Suggested Tips: These tips will help to make sure that you get the most sought after FastPasses during your next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.
- Log into your My Disney Experience Account the night before you need to get your FastPasses. Make sure that you are able to log into the account. Nothing is worse than waking up early the following day and at 7:00am you can not remember your User Name or Password to get into your account.
- You will not see the option to get your advanced FastPasses prior to 7:00am on the morning that you can secure them. So that would be 60 days in advance for guests staing on site in a Walt Disney World Resort and 30 days prior to arrival to anyone staying off site.
- Make your list and choose your MUST HAVE’S in the order of the most important to least important.
- When you begin at 7:00am choose your date, your theme park and then your FastPass + for the Ride or Attraction of your choice. Begin with the MOST IMPORTANT ride or attraction that is on your MUST HAVE list. So if you know you MUST HAVE Frozen Ever After over everything else. Then that is the first one you will do. It does not matter the order. So even if you are going to Epcot on Day one and Hollywood Studios on day two. You will begin with Epcot as your First Fast Pass even though you are not going to be there until your 3rd day. If Frozen Ever after is your #1 priority then that is the FIRST one you must secure. Then the system will ask you if you would like to CONTINUE ON THE SAME DAY, SAY NO!. Then you will go down your list to the next must have ride or attraction that you want. If you continue on the Same Day and then do all of the (3) for that one day and theme park, by the time you get to the second day that Must Have Fast Pass may be sold out for the day already.
- There is also a Tier System to the FastPass system. With the exception of the Magic Kingdom. Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom have the most popular rides and attractions listed in Tier One. You will only be allowed to choose ONE ride or attraction from Tier One. Then the other two must be from Tier Two. Now an example of a Tier One Ride would be Frozen Ever After, Soarin or Test Track. So once you choose One of those options you will then need to choose (2) less popular rides or attractions that are on the list. Most of which are continous rides on a track that you really do not even need a FastPass for. Like Spceship Earth or Journey into Imigination with Figment. So if you wanted to do a Frozen Ever After and a Soarin FastPass you would have to do them on different days. Or wait until you use your first (3) advanced ones and hope that their will be availability later in the day. In most cases most of the Tier One FastPasses will expire early morning. For Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park the Two New rides in Pandora are listes as Tier 1 and you MUST CHOOSE either Flight of Passage or the Navi River Journey as your Tier One choice, then you can choose two others. The ones that are very popular are Kilamanjaro Safari, Expedition Everest and Dinosuar. So it would make sense to choose two of those as your 2nd and 3rd choices.
- Once your daily FastPass+ selections are in place be sure to take a screen shot of each day with your phone. Should the My Disney Experience System shut down which does happen regularly you will know where you need to be at what time.
- Have portable power chargers for your cell phones as the WiFi in Disney will drain your batteries. (Don’t forget to charge them the night before).

After you use your first three you can get individual ones throughout the day using your My Disney Experience App or form a FastPass Kiosk located throuout the parks.
Also make sure to get individual ones later in the day after you use your initial three or they are expired. So if you wanted to have 10 FastPasses for the day you can. Just get one at a time, once it is used or expired you can get a new one.
Children age 3 and under do not need FastPasses as they do not have a Theme Park Ticket. So if you have them the kids will just ride with you if it is for a show or attraction where the kids can ride or see.
