New! Tortuga Tavern Gets a New Menu: Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland has a new menu now available to Guests. The new menu items include barbecue sandwiches with either pulled pork, sliced beef brisket or grilled chicken breast, all served on Texas toast with beans and coleslaw. Vegetarians, or anyone looking for a lighter meal will enjoy the roasted corn and vegetable salad, served with vinaigrette dressing. Barbecue beef brisket or chicken can also be added to the salad.
Update! Some Nights of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Sold Out: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is officially sold out on October 29, October 31 and November 1. Currently, tickets are still available for: October 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, and 27.
Reminder! Changes to Main Street U.S.A Showtimes: The showtimes for the Main Street Trolley Show and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be adjusted Oct 14, 16, 26 and 28. On these dates, The Main Street Trolley show will use the Main Street fire truck and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will occur at 12:30pm and 5:40pm.
New! Halloween Treats at Epcot: At Epcot, head to Kringla Bakeri og Kafe in the Norway pavilion for a Spooky Olaf – a brownie shaped like a ghost covered with white fondant and Olaf’s face. Over in Future World at Fountain View, you’ll find a chocolate owl cupcake filled with chocolate marshmallow and sandwich cookie eyes, and at Sunshine Seasons, a candy corn push pop that’s orange, lemon or mango with layers of vanilla mousse. You’ll find all of these tasty treats the week of Halloween.
New! The Chew From Epcot Airing this Week: For the first time ever, ABC’s “The Chew” left their studios last week in New York City and took their daily “party in the kitchen” to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World Resort to tape five shows airing this week (October 12-16) on ABC. Hundreds of enthusiastic fans cheered on Clinton Kelly, Carla Hall, Mario Batali and Michael Symon on the custom-built set with the backdrop of Spaceship Earth under Florida’s sunny skies.
Reminder! 20th Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Now Open: Each fall, Epcot transforms for the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival —where dozens of unique flavors and fun experiences unfold across the park. There are over Global Marketplaces where you can taste and sip small food plates and exotic drinks from all over the world. Eat to the Beat concerts bring you top names in music for free concerts (free with your Epcot admission). The Festival Center is the place to find cook book and bottle signings, culinary demonstrations and much more. This year the Festival runs Sep 25 – Nov 16!

New! “We Love Disney” Film Showing: Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can view a special look at the production of the new album “We Love Disney,” which features unique interpretations of classic Disney songs by some of the most popular pop, rock, R&B and country artists of today. This film is being shown in the park’s ABC Sound Studio, and features interviews and behind the scenes footage with multi-platinum, Grammy® Award-winning producer David Foster and some of the world-renowned talents who have contributed to the album.
New! Carrot Cake Specialty Cupcakes: A new specialty cupcake is now available to celebrate the fall season. The new cupcake is a carrot cake cupcake is frosted with orange buttercream frosting and topped off with a pumpkin Mickey. This special cupcake will be available at Trolley Car Cafe, ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, Fairfax Faire, Pizza Planet, Starring Rolls Cafe and Studio Catering Co. The carrot cake cupcake is included in the Disney Dining plan and will be available through Nov. 1.
New! Club Disney Opens Dec 4 at New Sunset Showcase: An all-new special event venue, Sunset Showcase opens later this year on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The premier engagement at the new Sunset Showcase will be Club Disney, the hottest spot in town for kids and characters alike! You can join Mickey and the gang and take to the dance floor in this electric club environment, where a DJ Club Host spins the perfect playlist mix of your favorite Radio Disney Top 40 songs as the floor and walls come alive with vivid images from classic Disney animation.

New! Halloween Treats at Disney’s Animal Kingdom: At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, on October 31 you can enjoy at Bat Cupcake at Kusafiri Bakery and Isle of Java. Then on November 26, a fall cupcake debuts at the same locations. Both count as a snack on the Disney Dining Plan. And Tusker House Restaurant will showcase mini-pumpkin muffins and pumpkin cheesecake on the buffet.

New! La Vida Health Club to Open at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort: On Oct. 19, La Vida Health Club at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will open its doors to guests. The club will offer fitness equipment, spa and salon services. The theming was designed to use natural elements from the southwest in the motif. The facility now offers more capacity for nail services and a relaxation area. The Vida Health Club will be open daily from 9am to 7pm.
New! Dine with an Imagineer at Chef’s Domain at Cirticos at Disney’s Grand Floridian: Beginning Nov 5., Guests can dine with an Imagineer at the Chef’s Domain at Citricos on the first Thursday of the month. A four course dinner will be presented for $89 and a wine pairing can be added for an additional $30.
Reminder! Water Play Area Closed at Disney’s Grand Floridian: From Oct 19 through Nov 6, the Beach Pool Water Play area will be closed for refurbishment. The Beach Pool and Courtyard Pools will both be open and activities will continue to be available at the Beach Pool during this time.
Reminder! Cupcake of the Month at Disney’s Contemporary Resort: Contempo Cafe has a new cupcake of the month. This month, it’s the Cinnamon Bun Cupcake, which is a cinnamon laced vanilla cupcake with cinnamon pecan cream filling and maple cream cheese buttercream frosting. It is garnished with crystal sugar, dusted cinnamon and candied pecans. This item will be available Oct. 4 – 31.
Reminder! Flying Fish Restaurant Refurbishment in 2016: Flying Fish Cafe at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort will undergo refurbishment from February 2016 through Fall 2016. The restaurant will be closed during this time. You can expect a whole new look, and the team will be working on a new menu (but no worries, the potato-wrapped snapper remains and seasonal approach stay the same).

New! New Roadway Access to Disney Springs Now Open: Disney Springs reached a new milestone in its transformation this week with the opening of a connection from westbound I-4 into the Disney Springs Orange Garage. The ramp will offer easy access to Disney Springs and eastbound travel on Buena Vista Drive. Initially, cars using the ramp to travel eastbound will be required to come to a complete stop prior to merging with traffic on Buena Vista Drive, but this is only temporary.
New! Restaurant for Celebrity Chef Art Smith Coming to Disney Springs in Summer 2016: According to the Disney Parks Blog, a new restaurant with farm-to-fork cuisine is coming to Disney Springs next year. Homecoming: Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine is Chef Art Smith’s new restaurant concept. It opens in Summer 2016 at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort. Chef Smith is known from his years as Oprah’s chef and for his appearances in “Iron Chef America,” “Top Chef” and “Top Chef Masters.” The Homecoming menu will feature Southern favorites like homemade pimento cheese, Church Lady deviled eggs, low country shrimp and grits, kale salad with Sweet Grass Dairy cheese and spiced pecans and a grilled Blackstrap pork chop with sawmill gravy. Desserts will be a specialty, with cakes, pies and delectable sweets made daily and shipped from a bakery in Hamilton County, including the restaurant’s signature Mockingbird Cake.
New! Duffy the Disney Bear’s Best Friend ShellieMay Coming to Disney Parks This Fall: ShellieMay, Duffy the Disney Bear’s best friend, will be coming to Disney Parks this fall. ShellieMay’s backstory is that ShellieMay was made by Minnie Mouse so that Duffy would have a best friend by his side. Disney will introduce a 17-inch plush bear along with several costumes for dressing ShellieMay. Guests may also find a “My First ShellieMay” 12-inch plush bear. Various costumes will be available for ShellieMay as well as a hardcover book and plush pillow version of ShellieMay.
New! ALEX AND ANI Wraps Debut for Fall at Disney Parks: On October 12, add texture to your bangle set with new braided leather wraps available in cream leather with Rafaelian Gold Finish accents and black with Rafaelian Silver Finish accents. There is also the intricate Gift of Wisdom Wrap, which you will find in Rafaelian Gold, Rafaelian Silver and Rose Gold Finishes with Mickey Mouse shaped-head on the end of both sides! Debuting October 19 is a nostalgic line considered part of the ALEX AND ANI “Precious” collection. These beautiful new pieces include a Mickey Filigree expandable necklace and ring, a pull chain bracelet and post earrings. Each item will be sold individually in .925 sterling silver or if you’re a fan of gold, look for the 14kt gold plated version. Tip: Please note that only Downtown Disney District and Disney Springs locations will offer the “Precious” collection at this time.
New! Disney Parks | PANDORA Jewelry Collection Items Coming Soon: New Holiday charms from the Disney Parks | PANDORA Jewelry Collection are debuting on October 29-31 at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs Marketplace at Walt Disney World Resort.
New! Retail MagicBands for Haunted Mansion and Disney Villains: Two new retail MagicBands are coming to Walt Disney World Resort on October 9. The Disney Villains MagicBand is open edition while the Haunted Mansion-themed MagicBand is limited release. Both MagicBands are printed on a purple-colored MagicBand.
October 24 – 25: Join us for an artist showcase at Art of Disney in Disney Springs Marketplace as we celebrate the release of new works of art by Noah, Randy Noble and Don “Ducky” Williams, October 24 from 6 – 8 p.m. and October 25 from Noon – 2 p.m.
