New! Tickets for Holiday Events Go On Sale May 5th: Tickets for Mickey’s Not-so-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will become available for purchase on May 5, 2016. This year, MNSSHP will have 29 nights: September – 2, 8, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 29, 30 and October – 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31. This year there are 21 nights of festive fun at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Tickets will be available for the following event dates: November 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 18, 27, 29 and December 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22.
New! Magic Kingdom After A Hours Discounts Available: Specially priced tickets for Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park are now available for Disney Vacation Club members and Annual Passholders with Premier Passport,Platinum Plus Pass, Premium Annual, Platinum Pass, Annual Gold Pass, Silver Pass, Seasonal, Weekday Select Epcot After 4 Annual Pass. Specially priced tickets are $75 plus tax for the following event dates: May 5, 8, 12 and 19. As a reminder, Disney After Hours is a specially ticketed event, allowing participants to enjoy more magic in less time at Magic Kingdom Park with a shorter than typical wait time for popular attractions and character greetings. Ice cream novelties and bottled beverages are also included during the three-hour event.
Reminder! Temporary Changes to Parades and Shows: Some Magic Kingdom entertainment offerings will be impacted certain dates throughout spring. The Main Street Trolley Show and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be adjusted May 16, 19, 23, 26 and 31. On these dates and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be presented at 12:30 and 5:40.
New! Three-Course Prix-Fixe Menu debuts at Tutto Italia Ristorante: From May 2 through Aug. 28, Epcot Guests dining at Tutto Italia Ristorante can create their own three-course prix-fixe lunch featuring a choice of appetizer, main course, dessert and drink. This limited-time menu offering will be available daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu features a variety of Italian specialities including pastas, salads, fish meat dishes and desserts. Reminder! 2016 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival Under Way: From March 2-May 30, take time to stop and smell the flowers at Epcot – and while you’re here, try delicious fresh foods, rock out with classic bands and dig in to all that the Flower & Garden Festival has to offer! With new topiaries, Outdoor Kitchens, experiences for kids and more, there’s always something to discover. Upcoming Garden Rocks concerts include:

Meet Olaf at All New Celebrity Spotlight: Beginning May 8th, you can join some of your favorite Disney characters as they live out their Hollywood dreams in two new character greeting experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In Celebrity Spotlight, located in the park’s Echo Lake district, you’re invited to meet that lovable snowman Olaf, from Disney’s blockbuster film “Frozen.” Olaf is living his dream “In Summer,” chilling on the beach and ready to give warm hugs to all his new friends. Just around the bend on Commissary Lane is where you’ll find “Mickey and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams.” Walk the red carpet and step right into a scene with Minnie, where she appears as a Tinsel Town starlet in a ritzy setting! Next, join Mickey in a scene from “Fantasia,” where he’s portraying his iconic role of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
Reminder! Disney’s “Alice Through the Looking Glass” Previews”: Beginning May 6, guests visiting Disney Parks will be able to catch a preview of scenes from the movie in sneak peeks planned for Disney California Adventure park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will get to see this advance look at clips from the film, as part of the One Man’s Dream attraction. Plan to catch this 10-minute sneak peek of Disney’s “Alice Through the Looking Glass” before time runs out! It will be playing for a very limited time, May 6 – June 12, 2016.

New! Authentic Details of Pandora – The World of AVATAR Revealed: The Disney Parks Blog has shared new details on how Pandora – The World of AVATAR that will come to life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2017. This new land will take on new life at night with bioluminescent flora and special nighttime immersive programming that’ll add a magical touch. You’ll be transported to the world of Pandora – alive with amazing creatures and “glowing” ground beneath your feet. You’ll also notice realistic details during your adventures, including special Na’vi artifacts seen throughout the land. More details on Pandora – The World of AVATAR, including the spectacular “floating mountains” and thrilling attractions coming to the land: AVATAR Flight of Passage and the Na’vi River Journey as expected to be revealed soon.

Update! Afternoon Tea Returns Disney’s Beach Club Resort: Returning May 5-8, Guests can once again enjoy Afternoon Tea at Disney’s Beach Club Resort in the Crescent Solarium. The tranquil, comfortable solarium overlooking Crescent Gardens provides an elegant setting for Guests to enjoy classic afternoon tea, savories and sweets, such as house-made scones, petite sandwiches and pastries. A variety of alcoholic beverages will also be available. Afternoon Tea will be served from 1-5 p.m. and Guests can make reservations at waltdisneyworld.com or by calling 4070-WDW-DINE. Future Afternoon Tea dates include: June 16-19, July 1-4, August 11-14 and Sept. 1-5.
New! Memorial Day Beach Party at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Take part in a retro beach party on Friday, May 6, and on Memorial Day—Monday, May 30. There will be music, games, activities and special offerings. The party will take place on the beach from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on both dates.

New! Disney’s Water Parks Fully Open: Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are open to guests and all attractions are open and operating.
New! 2016 Invictus Games Kick Off at ESPN Wide World of Sports: The 2016 Invictus Games is coming to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort this week. The Invictus Games Orlando 2016 takes place May 8-12 and will feature more than 500 injured military veterans and active duty personnel from 14 countries competing in 10 events. The lineup for the event’s Closing Ceremony on May 12 will feature world-renowned talent and uplifting performances including:
- International popstar Rachel Platten
- Best-selling country vocal group Rascal Flatts
- Former “American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips
- Florida native and Grammy-nominated hip-hop superstar Flo Rida
- “The Voice” Season 9 winner Jordan Smith
- The first nationally-recognized wounded warrior band, Vetted
The Closing Ceremonies will be televised live on ESPN2 and co-presented by the Walt Disney Company and Jaguar Land Rover. Prince Harry is also planning to also on hand, as well as the newly announced celebrity ambassador and legendary actor, Morgan Freeman. Reminder! Kristoff & Olaf To Host Frozen Games At Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park: Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will play host to the inaugural Frozen Games beginning May 27th. The Winter Games Committee has taken advantage of the freak snowstorm over Central Florida and will host an impromptu sporting event known as The Frozen Games through Aug 21. They’ve even invited Kristoff and Olaf to lead teams of guests in a day full of fun “Frozen” activities, before the warm sun melts the snow away. Guests visiting the waterpark can to join “Team Kristoff” or “Team Olaf” and participate in a variety of activities, including Ice Pail Relays, a Snowball Toss to Ski Pole Limbo and Slide Races. Olaf and Kristoff will join the Winter Games Committee members in the games’ Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and will give updates throughout the games to report on their team’s achievements. The “Frozen” Games will be an all-day event that guests can sign up for when they arrive at the park entrance. All activities are included with regular admission to Blizzard Beach.

Fulton’s Crab House To Reopen at Disney Springs This Fall As Paddlefish: Fulton’s Crab House is currently under refurbishment, and will reopen this fall as Paddlefish: a reimagined restaurant with a new concept that reflects a modern luxury yachting theme.Paddlefish will serve fresh seafood, steaks and chops, a catch of the day, and composed seafood entrees such as lobster risotto with poached Maine lobster, saffron and Meyer lemon oil and redfish with coconut milk, crab broth, tomato, peppers and ginger. Fan favorites including Florida stone crab, Alaskan King and Queen crab, and lobster corn dogs will be back. A fun new addition is lobster guacamole made tableside with Maine Lobster, chilies, cilantro, lime and tortilla chips. And there’s a “build-your-own boil” so you can pick your own ingredients and seasonings. The sleek and modern design of Paddlefish includes a new rooftop lounge, open until 2 a.m., with spectacular views of Disney Springs and the water. The lounge will have a separate menu of eclectic dishes perfect for sharing.

Among them: Sprinkles Cupcakes with an available-all-day cupcake ATM Machine; Blaze Pizza, offering fast-fire’d custom built artisanal pizzas; Amorette’s Patisserie featuring petit cakes and signature dome cakes that are works of art; D-Luxe Burger with options for burger aficionados and milkshake connoisseurs; and two by James Beard Award-Winning Chefs … Homecoming: Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine, a farm-to-table concept by Chef Art Smith, and Tablas Frontera, with exquisitely crafted Mexican cuisine by Chef Rick Bayless.

Star Wars Force for Change Returns to Disney Parks: Starting May 4, 2016, Disney Parks will offer t-shirts for adults and youth that feature the logo for the upcoming filmRogue One: A Star Wars Story. These shirts are the first products for the new film created especially for Disney Parks. Twenty-five percent of the retail sale price of this product will be donated to U.S. Fund for UNICEF in support of UNICEF Kid Power. UNICEF Kid Power gives kids the power to save lives. By getting active with the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids can go on missions, earn points and unlock therapeutic food packets for severely malnourished children around the world. The shirts will be released at the following locations:
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Tatooine Traders and Star Wars Launch Bay
- Disney Springs – Star Wars Galactic Outpost and Once Upon A Toy
- Magic Kingdom Park – Merchants of Venus

May 5 – 22: Representatives from Precious Moments dolls will be on hand this month as they showcase, you guessed it, fan favorite dolls from the collection. In addition to your favorite classics, this month Precious Moments will showcase its new Mother’s Day “Cherish” collection. Find them throughout the day, each day at Marketplace Fun Finds in Disney Springs Marketplace. Tip: Doll Designer Linda Rick will be on hand for special appearances May 20 – 22.
May 6 – 8: ACME Artist Rodel Gonzalez will take part in an artist showcase from 3 – 5 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m., each day at Art of Disney in Disney Springs Marketplace.
May 7: Join us as we welcome back Precious Moments Master Sculptor Hiko Maeda who will be on hand for a signing of the newest piece titled Treat Being With You from Noon – 2 p.m. and 4 – 6 p.m. at Art of Disney in Disney Springs Marketplace. Look for additional appearances by Hiko throughout the weekend at the Walt Disney World Resort.
May 11 – 15: Artist Greg McCullough returns to Art of Disney in Disney Springs Marketplace with special appearances and signings from 1 – 8 p.m., each day.

This year’s artisan showcases at the Pergolas include Boiled Books, Growmanji, Elemental Nursery, EyeCatchers, Haf2Paint, Just Plumerias, Noah’s Ark Topiaries, Petal Pushers, Rinse Bath & Body Inc., and Swaying in the Breeze. Tip: Noah’s Ark Topiaries will take part in live demonstrations May 14, 28 – 29 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., each day.
May 6: Precious Moments Master Sculptor Hiko Maeda kicks off his Walt Disney World Resort visit at Art of Disney from 4 – 6 p.m. as we release the newest Disney Theme Park sculpture titled, Treat Being With You.
