Magic Kingdom Park
Reminder! Temporary Changes to Parades and Shows: Due to construction work, some Magic Kingdom entertainment offerings will be impacted certain dates throughout January. The Main Street Trolley Show and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be adjusted Jan. 29. On these dates, the Trolley Show will use the Main Street fire truck and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be presented at 12:30 and 15:40.
Reminder! TradNation Now Performing in Canada: Beginning Friday, January 15, TradNation, a musical family ensemble, joins the show lineup of live entertainment at World Showcase. TradNation showcases a repertoire of traditional songs as well as original family compositions passed down through the ages. This interactive, musical celebration of life will be offered as a limited engagement five days a week on the Mill Stage in Canada.
New! Nine Dragons Restaurant at China Pavilion Celebrates Chinese New Year: In celebration of the Chinese “Year of the Monkey,” Nine Dragons is offering some special menu items and a new prix fixe lunch menu. The lunch special (3 courses for $17.98) starts with spring rolls or pot stickers. There is a choice of three entrees: Happily Family, with sliced chicken breast, beef and shrimp stir fry; Moo Goo Gai Pan with stir-fried chicken breast, mushrooms and snow peas; and General Tso’s Chicken Buns Lunch Box with three steamed buns and hot-and-sour soup. Dessert is strawberry-red bean ice cream or ginger-caramel ice cream. Another addition to the menu, just for Year of the Monkey are three steamed buns: braised pork belly served with chili aioli; sweet-and-sour, batter-fried fish buns topped with pork floss; and General Tso’s Chicken buns with batter-fried chicken breast. (Pork floss is dry, fluffy shredded pork seasoned with soy sauce and sugar.) The menu specials run through January 27, 2017.

Reminder! Kylo Ren Coming to Star Wars Launch Bay in Early Feb: Soon guests at Disney Parks will be able to interact with one of STAR WARS: The Force Awakens’ most intriguing new characters, Kylo Ren. Beginning in early Feb, a visit to Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will transport you to the Star Wars galaxy for an encounter with Kylo Ren on the bridge of his First Order Star Destroyer. Darth Vader will no longer be available for a meet and greet in this area but young Jedis can encounter him at Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
New! New Menu Items at Animal Kingdom: Several Food & Beverage locations introduced menu changes this week. Changes include:
- Dawa Bar: Now serving a new Chenza Cooler made with Snow Leopard Vodka and thirst-quenching Tangerine Lemonade. This replaces the Tikiti Cooler made with Watermelon Lemonade that was served at the location previously.
- Harambe Market: Entrees will now be served with a tasty black-eyed pea, corn and tomato salad.
- The Smiling Crocodile (formerly known as the Gardens Kiosk): Now serving snack-sized treats of cheddar grits with pulled pork and chicken drumstick with potato salad. These replace the full-size salmon salad, chicken salad, and turkey sandwich entrees served at the location previously.
- Terra Treats (formerly known as the Discovery Island Allergy Kiosk): No longer serving the chicken salad sandwich.
- Warung Outpost: This location is currently closed for the “Flights of Wonder” refurbishment happening in the area. Guests looking for beer, frozen beverages or pretzels should visit Chakranadi kiosk or Drinkwallah nearby.

Celebrate Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge: Cultural representatives at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will be celebrating African culture on Wednesday, Feb. 3, from 10–11 a.m. in the Jambo House lobby. There will be music, dancing and plenty of inspiring pride as they represent their home countries. Guests can have their faces painted and learn about the many activities that are a part of African culture.
New! Cell Phone Charging Stations near Grand Floridian Pools: New cell phone charging stations are now available Courtyard Pool Bar and Beach Pool Bar & Grill! A variety of plugs are available to charge almost any device.
New! Afternoon Tea Coming to Disney’s Beach Club: Beginning Feb. 11, Disney’s Beach Club Resort will begin offering Afternoon Tea at the Crescent Solarium during the following select dates: Feb. 11-14, Feb. 18-21, March 24-29, May 5-8, June 16-19 and Sept. 1-5. The tranquil, comfortable solarium overlooking Crescent Gardens provides an elegant setting for Guests to enjoy classic afternoon tea, savories and sweets, such as house-made scones, petite sandwiches and pastries. A variety of alcoholic beverages will also be available. Afternoon Tea will be served from 1-5 p.m. and Guests can make reservations at waltdisneyworld.com or by calling 407-WDW-DINE beginning Wednesday, Jan. 27.

New! Blizzard Beach Closed thru Jan 29: Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed through Thursday, January 29, 2016 due to forecasted low temperatures.

Reminder! Modify Dining Reservations Online: You are now able to modify Disney dining reservations at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts right from your computer. Previously, you had to call to make any changes to existing reservations, such as seating time and number of Guests. This new “Change Reservation” feature is available now and allows you to make modifications to reservations up to 20 minutes prior to the reserved seating time. This feature is not currently available on MyDisneyExperience, but on a mobile device, you can visit http://www.disneyworld.com/dining to make, modify or cancel a dining reservation.

SMS Audio Releases Super Hero Styles: Debuting this month is a collection of super hero-themed SMS Audio headphones (the official headphones of Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort) that will only be found at Disneyland Resort, Disney Springs and other select locations at the Walt Disney World Resort, before hitting national retailers this spring. The retail price on these sleek and stylish super hero-themed SMS Audio headphones at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort is currently $99.95, plus tax. Look for them in the coming weeks at Disney Springs West Side – Super Hero Headquarters.
New! ‘Goofy Sport’ Hand-Painted Ink & Paint Cel Debuting at Walt Disney World Resort: Debuting March 12 at Stage 1 Company Store located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a new piece titled “Goofy Sport.” This new piece, available now, is limited to an edition size of 300. The cel will be available in a variety of formats including Unframed ($125), Black Framed Cel ($215), Black Framed Cel with mounted Pin ($245) and Black Framed Cel with mounted Postcard and Pin ($255), Gold Frame ($285). Guests attending the event March 12, 2016 will enjoy special appearances by the artists from 10 a.m. – 1p.m. on the day of release.
